Lisa Bancroft is Cofounder and Trustee of BRCA+ Chat, a National Charity registered in 2021. They raise awareness, provide support and build an inclusive community for those impacted by BRCA (or other gene alterations predisposing them to cancer). Lisa currently works as a policy manager in the Scottish Government. Lisa discovered that she had the BRCA 1 gene alteration in 2019 aged 27, just over a year before losing her biological father to cancer. Since discovering the gene alteration, Lisa has had a preventative double mastectomy and reconstruction and plans to join the Protector Study in a few years.
