Bonnie Green
Cancer Patient Partner,
ㅤ
Bonnie has been a Cancer Patient Partner for several years, following her diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer, working with cancer services nationally, regionally (SWL) and locally and is committed to ensuring the patient voice is not only heard but contributes to co-production of projects to improve patient experience. Though her own journey she is very aware of how important it is for those living with and beyond cancer to get the best possible support from primary and community healthcare following their discharge from hospital. This can be a particularly stressful time and from discussions she has had with many people affected by cancer, whether they be patients or family members, confirms that it can be a time of feeling isolated and unsupported.
Bonnie was therefore very happy to be invited to provide a patient voice to the development work that led to the establishment of the Cancer Community of Practice and is now a member of its Steering Group.
Bonnie is also an elected member of the Council of Governors for her local acute NHS Trust and Chair of her GP’s Patient Participation Group
