Registration opens for Oncology Professional Care 2023

Registration is now live for Oncology Professional Care, an award-winning conference and exhibition for the whole oncology healthcare community on 23-24 May 2023 at ExCeL London.

Following a successful inaugural event in 2022, Oncology Professional Care will provide world-class, CPD-accredited learning to the multi-disciplinary team ranging from oncologists, clinical nurse specialists to pharmacists and therapeutic radiographers. Leading pharmaceutical companies, product and service providers will also be on-hand across both days to showcase the latest innovations and offer tailored advice to help delegates with their day-to-day challenges.

The conference programme has been carefully curated to be multi-professional and multi-disciplinary to reflect the teamwork necessary to improve patient outcomes. It is supported by an official Advisory Board including representation from Macmillan Cancer Support, The Royal Marsden NHS Trust, BASO~The Association for Cancer Surgery, Cancer Research UK and more. Key themes being covered at this year’s event include:

  • Living With and Beyond Cancer
  • Health Inequalities
  • Clinical Excellence in Surgery and Therapeutics
  • Advanced Cancer Treatments
  • Early Diagnosis and Screening

It is free to attend for registered healthcare professionals or individuals working in oncology (excluding commercial companies).

Lucy Clarke, Event Manager of Oncology Professional Care, said: “We are so excited to return to ExCeL London in May for an action-packed two days of learning, networking and discovering. Welcoming over 1,000 delegates at our inaugural event last year, we’re expecting to be back bigger and better in 2023 with a comprehensive conference programme for the whole multi-disciplinary team and an exciting range of suppliers on the exhibition floor.”

Call for papers

Delegates can share results of their clinical or technical work in the Poster Zone, a dedicated area on the exhibition floor where posters will be displayed and viewed by hundreds of healthcare professionals. Abstracts relating to the overall themes of the theatres are welcomed and should demonstrate an appropriate and/or innovative piece of work relating to patient care and/or practice. The deadline for abstracts is 17:00 on Monday 27 February 2023. More information is available on the website: oncologyprofessionalcare.co.uk/call-papers

New for 2023: BASO Spring Conference

Oncology Professional Care is delighted to announce the expansion of their partnership with BASO~The Association for Cancer Surgery. The BASO Spring Conference is a two-day scientific programme in the Clinical Excellence Theatre, featuring the very best surgical talents presenting their work in surgical oncology and providing CPD-accredited education and training for oncology surgeons and trainees. The sessions will be open to both members and non-members of BASO~ASC.

Zaed Hamady, President of BASO~ACS, said “Cancer surgery is first line curative option to all solid cancers, and our presence within Oncology Professional Care gives us the opportunity to showcase the latest technologies in surgical oncology and achieve a scientific partnership for the benefit our patients. I look forward to seeing all professionals interested in cancer diagnosis and treatment in May 2023.”

New for 2023: Head and Neck Cancer Village

Working in partnership, Oncology Professional Care and The Swallows Head and Neck Cancer Group have developed the new Head and Neck Cancer Village.

A dedicated area on the exhibition floor, it will showcase the latest products, services and innovations relevant to the diagnosis, treatment and aftercare of patients with head and neck cancer. The London Dental School has already confirmed an oral cancer screening using the OralID - a blue light to help identify oral cancer, pre-cancer and other abnormal lesions at an earlier stage. This 60 second procedure will be available to all delegates and the results will be presented on day two at Oncology Professional Care.

Chris Curtis, CEO of The Swallows Head and Neck Cancer Group, said: “We are excited to support this new initiative. I presented at last year’s Oncology Professional Care and was so impressed with the wide range of healthcare professionals who were so engaged and eager to learn.”
