Keynote Theatre | The Future Cancer Workforce Focus Day

This session will explore the WMCA Psychosocial mapping report recommendations and the Development plan to increase access to psychosocial care for people affected by cancer and also support for staff working in cancer care.

  • Psychosocial care is vital and integral to maximising cancer treatment and care outcomes
  • Advocate for “Parity of esteem” in cancer care  - there is no health without mental health
  • Good psychosocial care provision also supports cancer care staff 
  • Implementation of integrated psychosocial care needs system leadership to overcome workforce gaps and recruitment challenges
  • Future cancer treatment developments and psychosocial distress considerations
