BOPA PHARMACY STREAM: Part One | How to deliver inclusive cancer care
Health inequalities (HI) in cancer are a significant problem in the UK. Therefore, an inclusive approach to cancer care is needed to address the diverse needs of people with protected characteristics such as race, age, disability, religious/cultural beliefs etc The British Oncology Pharmacy Association (BOPA) set up an Equity, Diversity &Inclusion (EDI) subcommittee 2.5years ago, aiming to make inclusion a reality within cancer care. One of the committee work streams is investigation into inclusive care. In this session, we will share our findings to date on the below projects: · Scoping review about interventions to optimise patients’ experiences with systemic anticancer therapies · Advocacy for the cancer journey · Supporting people with learning disabilities · Supporting families of children living with cancer
